A Kite Exhibition

As a kind of Chinese traditional handicrafts, kite was invented out of the ancient people’s longing for flying. It was customary to fly kites after Song Dynasty (960 – 1279 AD). It often comes in the shape of eagle, swallow, dragon, phoenix, etc.

Zhou Wenyong (周文雍) is a painter who has committed to painting the local customs and practices of Jiangnan area. More than 70 paintings by Zhou which fall into four themes, i.e. Jiangnan Ancient Town, Jiangnan Alley, Gusu Flavor and Suzhou Classical Gardens, will be on display.
