Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism announced the second batch of key rural tourism villages. Three scenic villages in Suzhou, namely Luxiang Village, Yinghu Village, and Dongbang Village, were included in the list.
As the country embarks on the road of rural revitalization, Suzhou has seen one local village make it to the key national rural tourism village list and eight to Jiangsu provincial list so far.
Luxiang Village
Dongshan Town, Wuzhong District
Luxiang village is reputed as the “No. 1 Village of Taihu Lake”. The village is the best of its kind in preserving the Ming (AD 1368-1644) and Qing (AD 1644-1911) dynasties, featuring tall archways, folk houses, and mansions amid a large orange garden.
In Luxiang Village, you can follow the footprints of celebrities in the past dynasties, take pictures of the shooting locations of popular film and television productions, have agricultural fun by picking oranges, loquats, and red bayberries, or stroll along the streets and lanes and taste local pastries.

Yinghu Village

Yinghu Village offers various countryside leisure options including rural life, food experience, leisure resort, sightseeing and fruit picking, and cultural experience.
When you take out your smartphones and scan the 24 AR audible wall paintings, you’ll find the fish and ducks joyfully swimming in the lotus pond, golden wheat rippling in the breeze… With all these vivid wall paintings, the village is quite an impressive open-air art gallery.

Dongbang Village
Zhouzhuang Town, Kunshan
Dongbang Village offers a selection of rural tourism programs. You can take a boat tour, grab some boat snacks, have a sip of local tea, and relish the views unique to Jiangnan water town.
The village provides many other leisure programs, including paintballing, horse racing, and wilderness training. Visitors can also expect to experience such folk customs as greeting the God of Fortune and the Mid-autumn Festival lantern show.
