As the fall semester is approaching, Suzhou rail transit stations are welcoming more child passengers. To ensure the passengers’ safety, Suzhou Rail Transit released safety tips yesterday.

Ticket Gate

Take extra care of the accompanying kid and walk straight through the gate area. Use wide gates or turn to the station staff if you are pushing a baby pram. Wait behind the yellow line and ensure a green sign shows before using the gates. Pass quickly and do not stop or move back and forth in the gate area.

Escalator

No play on the escalator and stand clear of the edges, especially when wearing loose or long clothing, sandals, or slippers. Do not touch the “emergency stop button” unless absolutely necessary.

If someone falls down or something gets stuck in the escalator, remind other people to keep their footing, press the “emergency stop button” and ask station staff for help.

Mind the gap

Take caution while crossing the horizontal gap between the train door and the station platform. Do not rush in or force your way out of a train when the warning chimes sound or the doors are closing.

If you are carrying baggage or bulky items, in a wheelchair, or have a baby pram or trolley, lift up your stuff when boarding or alighting from the train.

Keep away from the train doors

After boarding the train, go to the middle of the carriage where there are not many passengers in general. Do not lean on the train door and keep away from the door when warning chimes sound. Passengers with a baby pram should avoid standing near the door.

Ask for help when kids get lost

Keep an eye on your kid. Never let your kid run, jostle, play in the station or on the train. When your kid gets lost during the ride, turn to station staff instantly.
