Suzhou Grand Canal Rubbing Exhibition

Time: January 15 to March 13, 2022
Venue: Taicang Museum (太仓市博物馆)

The exhibition selects over 70 pieces of rubbings from past dynasties that are related to Suzhou section of the Grand Canal, aimed at telling Suzhou stories about the Grand Canal in such fields as bridge, transport, politics, economy, culture, etc.

Joint Exhibition of Traditional Chinese New Year Prints 2022

Time: January 14 to February 20, 2022
Venue: Suzhou Art Museum (苏州美术馆(人民路))

The exhibition is hosted by Suzhou Public Culture Center under the guidance of Department of Public Culture, Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Various New Year prints from across the country, including Suzhou, Tianjin, Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Sichuan, Guangdong and many other provinces, are now on display at Suzhou Art Museum.

 Images in Temples and Tombs in Shanxi Since the Middle Ages 

Time: January 19 to April 18, 2022
Venue: First Floor, Museum of Wu (吴文化博物馆)

The Museum of Wu worked together with Shanxi Museum, Yuncheng Museum and Shanxi Yonglegong Mural Protection Institute to present over 100 pieces of cultural relics to the public. The visitors can expect to have a glimpse of the development of Chinese funeral traditions and temple culture.

The Brilliant Paintings in Royal Garden Court Paintings of Qing Dynasty from the National Museum of China

Time: January 1 to March 1
Venue: Third Floor, Paintings and Calligraphy Exhibition Gallery, Suzhou Museum West (苏州博物馆西馆-入口)

The exhibition selects a total of 35 pieces of paintings, calligraphy and kesi works from the National Museum of China and Suzhou Museum to present the artistic features of court paintings in the heyday of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

A Prosperous City of Gusu, Spring Coming to Jiangnan Special Exhibition of Emperor Qianlong’s Southern Inspection Tour

Time: January 1 to March 31
Venue: Fourth Gallery, Exhibition of Suzhou History, Suzhou Museum West (苏州博物馆西馆-入口)

On the occasion of the completion and opening of Suzhou Museum West, “Stopover at Gusu”, the sixth scroll of “Emperor Qianlong’s Southern Inspection Tour” by Xu Yang, is on display in Suzhou Museum West, presenting another visual feast of spring in Jiangnan.
